I was given this older style bookshelf from a friend of mine. I wanted to paint something whimsical : ) The funny thing is...it's already been painted again since this picture...lol! I kept the doors the same, but it is now cream colored! Ahhh the life of an artist.

 This is just a small sample of what can be done with older dressers/bureaus that you might find at a consignment store, yard sale, or a Goodwill thrift store. A lot of the items I purchase are solid, really heavy construction! You can often buy these pieces for less than what you would pay for particle board or laminate!! GET HUNTING, and don't be afraid of a little elbow grease! The reward and pride of YOU doing it yourself is worth it!!!
